You’ll learn how to make the ring and thread button known as the Dorset Posy. On the day\, you’ll be able to choose whether to turn your finished button into a brooch or a bookmark. The main focus will be on learning the button-making technique itself. \nThis workshop is organised by Ashfield Creates in partnership with Your Time CIC. Your Time CIC offers a safe and supportive community space where wellbeing comes first\, and Ashfield Creates is a programme supporting arts and creativity across Ashfield until 2027\, produced by Nonsuch Studios and Ashfield District Council. \nWhat You’ll Make\nYou’ll create a Dorset Posy button using traditional ring and thread techniques. This in-person\, small-group session is suitable for beginners\, with all tools and materials provided\, and £5 from each ticket donated to Hucknall Wildlife Group. \nWhat You’ll Make\nDuring this workshop\, you’ll create your own needle felted frog picture to take home. You’ll be guided through the process of colouring with wool fibres on a sheet of wool felt with simple needle felting techniques. Each finished piece will be unique\, as you’ll have the opportunity to choose your own colours… so plenty of room to ad your own personality to your frog! \nWho This Workshop Is For\nThis workshop is suitable for beginners as well as anyone who has tried needle felting before and would like a relaxed session to practise. It’s ideal if you enjoy hands-on crafts\, mindful making\, or simply fancy a couple of hours of creative “me time” in friendly company. No prior experience is needed. \nWhat’s Included\nAll tools and materials needed for the workshop are provided\, including felting needles\, wool fibres and a base to work on. You’ll also receive some guidance notes and extra information about frogs and their conservation to mark World Frog Day. Just bring yourself\, everything else is taken care of. \nDate\, Time & Location\nThe workshop takes place on Thursday 19th March\, from 7pm to 9pm\, in the lovely and cosy tearoom at Keycrafts Garden Centre\,  in Hucknall. The venue is wheelchair accessible. The session is kept to a small group (12 people max) to ensure a relaxed\, friendly atmosphere and individual support where needed. \nPrice & Booking\nTickets are £20 per person\, with £5 from each booking donated to Hucknall Wildlife Group in support of their local conservation work. DESCRIPTION:Thurs 27th Nov Dorset Button Style Christmas Tree Decoration at Keycraft Garden Buildings (in aid of Hucknall Wildlife Group) \nWelcome to my world! 🐸💚 For this last craft workshop\, fundraising for the Hucknall Wildlife Group\, I have decided to show you a little of my world – as in what I normally specialise in – but with a Christmassy twist of course! \nCome and join me\, Sandrine (The Frog in the Craft) at Keycraft Garden Buildings\, Hucknall for a two-hour fun\, relaxed and convivial workshop: Dorset Button Style Christmas Tree Decoration. I will show you how to make a Christmas decoration\, complete with a tassel\, using the Dorset button technique\, a heritage craft that is over 400 years old. We will mostly use a wooden curtain ring and some bits of wool and ribbon\, all things that you might actually have at home\, if you wanted to add to your collection. \nBy booking your place on this workshop and attending it\, you will be helping HWG greatly because I will donate a quarter of the fee to them! HWG is a not-for-profit\, apolitical group\, run by volunteers. All monies raised through donations help raise awareness and promote the causes of the group as well as protection of our local flora and fauna.
