Crewel Hand Sewing Needles Sizes 3 to 9 – Pony Black Nickel Free – Long Eye, Sharp Point

With a long eye and a sharp point, these Crewel needles are an essential item in all embroiderers’ and hand sewers’ needle case. Crewels are identical in length and thickness to sharps, but have a longer eye for easier threading of thicker threads. They are ideal for general surface embroidery, crewel work, goldwork, whitework and practically any embroidery technique or closely woven non-mesh fabric that require a sharp needle.

These fine embroidery needles are supplied in a paper folder, on a small plastic holder as a pack of 16 in assorted sizes 3/9.

These needles have a black non-reflective surface and a white eye, which is very soothing to the eye and which makes threading so much easier. They are made from hardened and tempered steel and are NOT nickel plated! This is good news if you suffer from metal allergies. In fact, they are not plated at all, which means that these needles may last longer than other allergy sufferers options such as gold plated needles. Often, after a while, the oil in your hands and the friction caused by the action of sewing will corrode the plating which will fade away and make your needle drag as the plating becomes uneven.
