Jobelan Evenweave 28 Count by Beijer is a fine, evenly woven embroidery fabric for cross stitch and other counted-thread techniques. The fabric has 11 threads per cm, equivalent to 28 count, creating the regular structure needed for accurate counted stitching.

Beijer’s Jobelan 429 fabric contains 51% cotton and 49% modal and is woven with the same number of threads horizontally and vertically.

Modal is a semi-synthetic textile fibre made from the harvested cellulose of beech trees. Part of the rayon family, alongside standard viscose and Lyocell/Tencel, it is a fabric specifically engineered to be an upgraded, high-performance version of traditional viscose. As it is derived from a natural plant source but processed using an advanced chemical spinning method to turn the wood pulp into fine threads, it bridges the gap between natural and synthetic materials.

The Black colour creates a dramatic background for embroidery and can make white, metallic, pastel and brightly coloured threads stand out strongly. It is a particularly effective choice for celestial designs, silhouettes, decorative motifs, modern cross stitch and projects designed specifically for dark embroidery fabric.
