Short darners, also known as cotton darners, are strong hand sewing needles with sharp points and long threading eyes and are commonly used for mending and darning using cotton and yarn or wool. These short darners hand sewing needles are supplied in a plastic free paper folder as a pack of 12 all in size 5.

The Pony Black range of needles have a black non-reflective surface and a white eye, which is very soothing to the eye and which makes threading so much easier. They are made from hardened and tempered steel and are NOT nickel plated! This is good news if you suffer from metal allergies. In fact, they are not plated at all, which means that these needles may last longer than other allergy sufferers options such as gold plated needles. Often, after a while, the oil in your hands and the friction caused by the action of sewing will corrode the plating which will fade away and make your needle drag as the plating becomes uneven.
