Add counted cross stitch designs to clothing, household linens and other fabrics with ease using DMC Waste Canvas. This versatile embroidery aid allows you to stitch neat, evenly spaced cross stitches onto fabrics that would normally be unsuitable for traditional counted embroidery.
Simply baste the waste canvas onto your chosen fabric using large tacking stitches, then stitch your design using the clearly defined grid. Once your embroidery is complete, trim away the excess canvas, dampen the remaining fibres and carefully remove the waste canvas threads from beneath your stitches.
Unlike soluble canvas, DMC Waste Canvas uses removable cotton threads that are withdrawn individually after stitching. This makes it particularly useful for projects where you want the familiarity of a traditional counted grid while working on garments, bags, cushions, household textiles and other textile craft projects.
The canvas includes blue guide threads at regular intervals to help you keep track of your chart and maintain accurate positioning throughout your project.
Waste canvas is suitable for cross stitch and a variety of counted embroidery techniques. The 14 count grid produces a versatile stitch size that works well for clothing embellishment, visible mending, personalised gifts and decorative textile projects.
