This sew-on hooks and eyes assortment from Archer Haberdashery offers a simple and reliable fastening solution for hand sewing projects. Hooks and eyes provide a strong closure while remaining hidden, which makes them ideal for garments that need to lie flat.
Because they are sewn on by hand, these fasteners suit both beginners and experienced sewists. They work especially well for clothing repairs, alterations, underwear, bodices, accessories, and small home sewing projects. In addition, the assorted sizes make it easy to choose the right fastener for each task.
Hooks and eyes are also a good option for those who prefer to avoid plastic fasteners. Using metal fastenings supports a more traditional approach to sewing. As a result, they offer durability and long-term use. This aligns with our preference for traditional, long-lasting materials in everyday sewing.
The assortment includes black and silver-coloured metal hooks and eyes. They come neatly packed in a reusable plastic storage box. This keeps the contents organised during sewing. Afterwards, the box can be reused to store beads, pins, or other small haberdashery items.

How to Sew Hooks and Eyes
- Thread a hand-sewing needle with matching thread and secure with a knot.
- Position the hook on the inside edge of the overlapping fabric, around 3 mm from the edge.
- Sew through the holes at the base of the hook using a buttonhole or blanket stitch.
- Add a few extra stitches over the curved wire of the hook to prevent lifting.
- Place the eye on the underlapping edge of the garment so it aligns neatly with the hook.
- Stitch around both loops of the eye using the same secure stitch.
- Finish by fastening off the thread neatly on the wrong side of the fabric.
