Jobelan Evenweave 28 Count by Beijer is a smooth, evenly woven embroidery fabric designed for counted-thread needlework. With 11 threads per cm, equivalent to 28 count, its regular weave provides a dependable foundation for cross stitch and other counted embroidery techniques.
Made from 51% cotton and 49% modal, Jobelan combines cotton with modal to create a versatile embroidery fabric with a fine, regular appearance. Beijer identifies Jobelan 429 as an 11 threads per cm embroidery fabric in this cotton and modal blend.
Modal is a semi-synthetic textile fibre made from the harvested cellulose of beech trees. It belongs to the rayon family (alongside standard viscose and Lyocell/Tencel), but it is specifically engineered to be an upgraded, high-performance version of traditional viscose. Because it is derived from a natural plant source but processed using an advanced chemical spinning method to turn the wood pulp into fine threads, it bridges the gap between natural and synthetic materials.
This white Jobelan Evenweave 28 Count provides a clean, neutral background that works with virtually any embroidery colour palette. White is particularly useful for designs where you want thread colours to appear crisp and clear.
Each pack contains one generous 50 x 70 cm pre-cut piece, giving you plenty of fabric for counted cross stitch, samplers, decorative embroidery and other counted-thread projects.
Jobelan Evenweave 28 Count offers an alternative to Aida for stitchers who prefer working on a finer, more closely woven embroidery fabric. For counted cross stitch, your chosen pattern will determine whether you work over one or more fabric threads
