Modal is a semi-synthetic textile fibre made from the harvested cellulose of beech trees. It belongs to the rayon family (alongside standard viscose and Lyocell/Tencel), but it is specifically engineered to be an upgraded, high-performance version of traditional viscose. Because it is derived from a natural plant source but processed using an advanced chemical spinning method to turn the wood pulp into fine threads, it bridges the gap between natural and synthetic materials.

This white Jobelan Evenweave 28 Count provides a clean, neutral background that works with virtually any embroidery colour palette. White is particularly useful for designs where you want thread colours to appear crisp and clear.
